A Night to Remember Ticket Price: $75.00 General $75.00 Couple $140.00 Saturday Dec 12, 2009 7:00pm - Until Honoring Bill Darden, Alpha Man of the Year The Eta Chi Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha presents A Night to Remember Honoring our "Alpha Man of the Year" Brother William " Bill" Darden. Bill is a retired educator from the East Ramapo Central School District in July of 2000. In his 34 years with East Ramapo, he served as a teacher of Life Sciences and English as a Second Language (ESL) in Science at Pomona Middle School. In addition, he also coached baseball at Pomona Middle School. Bill was a member of the New York State Grant Writing Team and wrote the curriculum for ESL Science for grades 7-9. He has been selected three times to Who’s Who Among American Teachers (1992, 2000 and 2002). In April of 2003 he was honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award by his alma mater, Mississippi Valley State University. On October 16, 2003 the African American Chamber of Commerce of Westchester and Rockland Counties, Inc. named him 2003 Rockland Political Leader of the Year. In addition, he has been honored by various civic, Greek (fraternities and sororities) and not-for-profit organizations for his community involvement.
